Terms of service
The rules for using SpamFactor, in plain language.
Last updated: 9 October 2026
SpamFactor is a service of Corbata Webdevelopment, Adriatische Zee 1a, 3825 WZ Amersfoort, the Netherlands, registered with the Chamber of Commerce under number 39079294 ("we"). These terms apply to everyone who uses SpamFactor for their domains ("you"). By using SpamFactor you agree to them.
What SpamFactor does
SpamFactor receives the incoming mail for your domains, checks every message for spam and viruses, and passes the accepted messages on to the mail server you use. Messages that are refused are kept in quarantine for 30 days, where you can read and release them. How the filter decides is explained on the homepage and in the frequently asked questions.
No spam filter is perfect. Now and then spam will get through, and now and then a good message will be tagged or refused. That is why every decision can be looked up and every refused message can be released.
What you take care of
- You only add domains you own or manage, and you have permission to have their mail filtered.
- You point the MX records of your domains to SpamFactor and set up your mail server to accept mail from us, as described in the setup instructions.
- You keep your login details safe. We recommend two-factor authentication or a passkey. When you give others access, you are responsible for who you give it to.
- You do not use SpamFactor to send spam, to attack other systems or for anything illegal, and you do not try to access domains or messages of others.
Availability
We aim to keep SpamFactor available around the clock, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. When SpamFactor is unreachable, sending mail servers keep the messages and try again for several days, so mail is delayed but not lost. Maintenance is done at quiet times where possible.
Your data and privacy
The mail we filter is yours. We only use it to filter it, to show you what happened to it, to let you release it and to improve the filter. For this mail we act as processor for you under the GDPR. What we store, why and for how long is described in the privacy statement. A data processing agreement is available on request.
Prices and payment
- The current prices are on the pricing section of the homepage. All prices are in euro and exclude VAT.
- A subscription runs for one year and is invoiced in advance. Invoices are due within 30 days.
- We may change prices. We tell you at least three months in advance, and the new price applies from your next year.
- If an invoice is not paid after a reminder, we may stop filtering for your domains. Remember to point your MX records back to your own mail server in that case.
Duration and cancellation
- A subscription is renewed automatically for another year, unless you cancel at least one month before the end of the current year.
- You can cancel by email to info@spamfactor.com. Before the end of your subscription, point your MX records back to your own mail server, otherwise mail for your domains can no longer be delivered.
- After the end of your subscription, the stored message details and quarantine copies are deleted within the periods in the privacy statement.
- We may end a subscription right away if these terms are seriously broken, for example when SpamFactor is used for abuse.
Liability
- Except in case of intent or gross negligence, we are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost profit, consequential damage or damage because a message was delayed, tagged or refused.
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for SpamFactor in the 12 months before the damage occurred.
- These limits do not affect rights that cannot be limited under Dutch or EU law.
Force majeure
We are not responsible for failures caused by circumstances outside our control, such as outages at data centres or network providers, large-scale attacks or government measures.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We announce material changes at least 30 days in advance by email or on this page. If you do not agree with a change, you can cancel before it takes effect.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are brought before the competent court in the Netherlands.
