About SpamFactor
SpamFactor is a hosted spam and virus filter for email, built and run by Jorden Chamid of Corbata Webdevelopment in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.
Who is behind SpamFactor
Jorden Chamid has been writing PHP and MySQL since 1998 and started Corbata Webdevelopment in 2002. Since then he has built more than a hundred websites and systems for clients, including web hosting systems, invoicing and staff applications, APIs and integrations, and does server maintenance and security audits.
For more than 15 years he also ran a web hosting company, and he still hosts a few dozen websites on a small scale. Running mail servers, DNS and spam filtering for customers is daily practice for him, not theory.
SpamFactor is one of his own products, next to Todo4you (project management) and CorbaCount (visitor statistics). You deal directly with the person who designs, builds and runs the service.
What SpamFactor stands for
- Nothing disappears without a reason. Every message SpamFactor handles can be looked up, including the ones it refused, with every check that decided it.
- Your mail stays in the EU. Filtering, quarantine and logs run on servers in the European Union.
- No changes to your mail server. Your mailboxes, outgoing mail, SPF and DKIM stay as they are.
- Simple pricing. A fixed price per domain per year, see pricing.
How your mail is handled
The filter runs on mail servers in the EU. Message details and quarantine copies are stored on the mail servers themselves and deleted automatically after the periods in the privacy statement.
The website and dashboard run on a separate server that reaches the mail servers only through an encrypted tunnel. Logins are protected with two-factor authentication or passkeys, and every login only sees the domains and addresses it has access to.
